Eric Hosmer Announces Retirement

Eric Hosmer, who helped the Kansas City Royals win the 2015 World Series, announced his retirement Wednesday.

Hosmer, 34, made the announcement on social media while promoting his new media company, saying "the playing days are unfortunately over but I'm committed to giving back to the baseball community."

Jenny Cavnar Makes History As A's New Announcer

Veteran baseball broadcaster Jenny Cavnar is the new primary play-by-play announcer for the Oakland Athletics, hired by NBC Sports California.

The company made the announcement Tuesday. Cavnar -- set to be the voice for most A's games during the upcoming 2024 season -- becomes the first woman in major league history to handle primary play-by-play duties.

Corey Kluber Retires After 13-Year Career

Two-time American League Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber announced his retirement on social media Friday morning, ending a 13-year career.

A three-time All-Star, Kluber won his first Cy Young with Cleveland in 2014 after going 18-9 with a 2.44 ERA. He won the award again in 2017, finishing 18-4 with a 2.25 ERA.

Adrian Beltre Gets Rangers On HOF Plaque

Adrián Beltré will have a Texas Rangers logo on his baseball Hall of Fame plaque, while Jim Leyland will not have any team emblem.

The Hall of Fame made the announcement Friday, 10 days after Beltré was elected by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Leyland was elected in December by the contemporary era committee for managers, executives and umpires.
